Now pastoral relaxation

With a teary eye, and ragged voice

But the violence sprung,
not from those whose heads were hung,
but from those of state, won’t keep us safe-
instead they perpetrate.
Inconceivable!
It’s unbelievable!

If violence is the form, it’s a mistake.
Shock of long red hair,
chained and floored,
a fearful stare.
Terror is in eyes,
thuggery in uniform’s disguise.
All within a week we’ve lauded sisterly
