This album is a bit of a smorgasbord of my musical creations. Some of it is very new, and some of it has been honed over a longer time. One song has been at least 21 years in the making :)

Some of the pieces feature the multiple layered guitars and basses you find in my debut EP, and some of it has bigger arrangements of other instruments, building from the arrangement work on the mdTN EP - my collaboration with Tennessee based artist MNTN. These newer arrangements are only possible because of discovering the joys of a MIDI guitar pick up - it's honestly really opened up a new sonic world to add to my palette!

I recorded, mixed, and mastered this at home in Hebden Bridge. Mostly what you'll hear is just me, my guitars and basses (and even ukulele!), guitar MIDI pickup magic, and Logic and its drummer - but I'm also blessed with a few people contributing their playing on some of the tracks:
    • Tomer Kat plays drum kit on tracks 1 and 4.
    • Anthony Broadbent plays the acoustic guitar solo on Track 5, and the electric guitar solo on track 6.
    • Martin Douglas plays drum kit on Track 8.

My trusted group of beta testers helped me to get this over the line when I just couldn't listen objectively anymore. Big thanks to Ant, Jo, Hutch, Jacob, Kris, Marc, and Pete for their feedback, which greatly helped me finish the mixes you'll hear.

The cover of Creep on this album is an officially licensed adaptation for my arrangement - licensed from publishers: Concord Music, and Warner Chappell Music.
Track 10 - creep is : Written by Colin Greenwood, Jonathan Greenwood, Edward O’Brien, Philip Selway, Thomas Yorke, Albert Hammond, and Mike Hazlewood. Published by Concord Music and Warner Chappell Music.

over what? 04:22
Music and lyrics by michael dollan (c)2023 Well this river has no straight lines, They aren’t corners where it bends. There’s a bridge that carries water, over what? Over my head. And a stillness, somehow higher this rolling river wends. There’s a bridge that carries water, over what? Over my head. And atop this rocky outcrop, Named in tribute by his friends. View astounding, somewhat grounding, over what? Over my head. They made water climb the stairwell, stepping down gated descent. Now pastoral relaxation replaces industry’s intent. And a stillness, somehow higher this rolling river wends. There’s a bridge that carries water, over what? Over my head.

Music and lyrics by michael dollan (c)2023 I could see you there, candle held up in the air. With a teary eye, and ragged voice ‘No more!’ will be your cry. But the violence sprung, not from those whose heads were hung, but from those of state, won’t keep us safe- instead they perpetrate. Inconceivable! It’s unbelievable! It’s not unteachable… If violence is the form, it’s a mistake. Shock of long red hair, chained and floored, a fearful stare. Terror is in eyes, thuggery in uniform’s disguise. All within a week we’ve lauded sisterly and bracket motherly- if irony took form, this form it’d take. If irony took form, this form it’d take. It’s not reasonable, we’re unappeasable, accounts receivable. But the violence sprung, not from those whose heads were hung, if violence is the form, it’s a mistake. Inconceivable! Unbelievable! If violence is the form, it’s a mistake. If irony took form, this form it’d take. Music and lyrics by michael dollan (c)2023 I could see you there, candle held up in the air. Music and lyrics by michael dollan (c)2023 Don’t try to know me, you just control sleep, but took away me- circadian difficulties. Awake to make sleep? Just steals it from me. I’m like a zombie. Circadian difficulties. I’m awake in the night it’s a time for creativity. I’m awake in the night it’s a time for creativity. I’m abject lazy, and grumpy-crazy! Act like a baby- circadian difficulties. You just ignore me. This starts to bore me. Want a new story… Circadian difficulties. I’m awake in the night it’s a time for creativity. I’m awake in the night it’s a time for creativity. I’ve lost myself now. Not sure I know how to unfurl my brow- circadian difficulties. I stop and it starts. You warm to my heart. Horse before the cart, circadian difficulties. Awake in the night it’s circadian difficulties. Awake in the night, it’s circadian difficulties.

Music and lyrics by michael dollan (c)2023 Onto your hand, I am holding, and I feel our time is just stolen, and maybe if we were set free few would like what they’d see. It’s in the eye of the beholder, always looking over their shoulder, and it’s a mystery to me I don’t see what they see… And it’s a mystery to me… Why don’t they see, what I see? Well it’s not quite what I was hopin’ but I’m not sitting around and mopin’. Think I left the front door wide open? Can we go back and see? There’s a person that I’m quotin’- Maybe paraphrasing? I’m hopin, that the relevance is clear… And my point is somewhere that’s near… And it’s a mystery to me… They don’t see, what I see? I think I left the front door wide open? Can we go back and see? It’s in the eye of the beholder, always looking over their shoulder, and it’s a mystery to me. I don’t see what they see… Onto your hand, I am holding, and I feel our time is just stolen. Music and lyrics by michael dollan (c)2023 Well I’ve done nothing at all… I haven’t left these four walls. And the pane in the frame, well, it looks just the same if you look at it long enough. Take your time, don’t hurry. No rush at all… So I did nothing at all… I didn’t leave these four walls… And I stared through the pain, but it looks just the same. Though I’ve looked at it long enough… No I did nothing at all… I couldn’t leave these four walls! As it started again and it feels just the same? No I’m number than I was before Take your time, don’t hurry- no rush at all Take your time, don’t hurry. No rush at all… And I did nothing at all… Thought should I paint these four walls??? But I did nothing at all… Tried to conceive - these four walls… Achieving nothing at all… No, I did nothing at all…

slide away 04:00
Music and lyrics by michael dollan (c)2023 You want to hide away, let the music play. Try another day, and find some comfort, hey. You could slide away? Try another day? Let the music play, and find some comfort, hey. You can slide away. You can slide away. You can slide away, and find some comfort, hey. You want to hide away, let the music play. Try another day, and find some comfort, hey. You could slide away? Try another day? Let the music play, and find some comfort, hey. Nothing in your way! Nothing left to say! Try another day? Or find another way? Let the music play! You can slide away and find some comfort, hey.
